What happens when I accept my first brief? ✨

First brief

Introduction

Congrats on securing your first brief! Things just got real (just kidding). This is going to be a total breeze 💨 Here's absolutely everything you need to know about smashing your first Vidsy CGC brief.

First things first

Give the brief a thorough read-through. Our briefs are detailed, and there’s a lot of information to digest.

It can be helpful to map out each video and everything you need to get done before the deadline. This is also a great time to search for inspo, have a mini-brainstorm sesh and ask any initial questions.

Time's your friend, so don't be shy. It’s better to let us know any questions or concerns you may have sooner rather than later.

Downloading the asset pack

Once you accept the brief, you’ll gain access to an assets pack, which contains any assets you may need when working on the brief. It also contains a folder structure that you can use for uploading your content to Vidsy.

Navigating the brief

Scroll through the introduction section to view an overview of the brand, campaign and creative guidelines for this brief. This will help you get to grips with the style of the content and the best practice guidelines for the platform you’re creating for.

The video sections give you full written instructions for each video within the brief, including inspirational content to spark your creative thinking.

Make sure to also read the 'must include' section. This will help ensure your videos get the Vidsy seal of approval.

What is a wild card video?

It’s time to join the wild side 🐯 Some of our CGC briefs might conclude with a ‘wild-card video’. This is an opportunity to let your creativity run wild. These videos will often be much looser in terms of direction and guidelines, giving you creative control.

I’m on a brief and need help

Get in touch with the team via the chat bubble or through emailing community@vidsy.co.

Our team works Monday-Friday, 9 am-6 pm (BST). Questions outside these hours may have longer response rates.

Lights, camera, action.

Although tempting, don’t leave filming to the last minute ⏰ Give yourself plenty of time to both film and edit your videos.

If you’ve got this far we already think you’re the bees knees 🐝🦵 However, there are a couple of things to be wary of to ensure your content meets internal best-practices.
You can discover our CGC best practices here.

It’s important to consider the following before filming:
✅ When are the best natural light opportunities?
✅ Weather considerations (are you filming outside?)
✅ What is my schedule looking like/is my talent available?
✅ Do I need to order product? How long will that take?

At Vidsy, we very much welcome shooting on your phone. However, we do ask that you film in 25 FPS and at 1080p.
You can learn more about our resolution requirements here.

Reconfirm the deadline

Once you’re invited to a specific brief, you can review the deadline on the Intro page, within the header section, before confirming your acceptance.

The deadline is displayed in your local time. Please ensure you’ve uploaded your content to Vidsy before the deadline passes.

If you think you are unable to submit or time please let our team know as soon as possible.

Submit your content

Once you’ve accepted the brief, you’ll gain access to a Submission page on our Creator Platform, which you can reach by clicking ‘Submit Files’.

On this page you’ll be able to upload your final videos, sign your release forms and send us any supporting content.

Get paid!

We aim to pay all briefs within 30 days of the deadline.

You’ll receive a “You’ve been paid!” email when your payment is on the way.

You can track all your expected and previous payments on your payments tab.
