CGC 🎬 or Remix 🪄 - what are they and which one am I?

At Vidsy, our professionally-written briefs are separated into two different creative skills: CGC (creator-generated content) and Remix (motion graphics). But what do each of them mean? And which one is best for you? Keep reading to find out more.

CGC (Creator-Generated Content) 🎬

For CGC, the content created uses creative storytelling and imagination through organic creator filming to sell a product or service in a natural authentic way.

CGC briefs allow you to showcase your talents in speaking, filming and editing, by creating original content that resonates with relevant audiences.

Imagine a video ad that brings live-action, creative ideas to life in an engaging way. Think of your favourite content creators on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Here are some of our favourite examples of CGC content:

If you have a strong understanding of editing videos for social media, best practices for high-performing content on TikTok/Reels and are comfortable and engaging in front of the camera, these are briefs for you!

Remix🪄

Remix briefs let you combine existing brand assets, like TV ads, video, images, graphics and text, with your motion graphics animation skills to breathe new life into them.

This is the perfect opportunity to put your After Effects skills to the test and create eye-catching visuals that captivate relevant audiences for the brand.

Here are some of our favourite examples of Remix content:

So if you’re confident using After Effects and are naturally talented at telling great stories through editing, you’re a remix creator!

No matter which briefs you choose, Vidsy is there to support you every step of the way. If you want to discuss what specialism suits you best, get in touch with the community team at community@vidsy.co.
